Raw Impressions Photography is pleased to announce the arrival of Tasmanian Seasons 2008.
Inspiration for this year's theme has come from an issue that is affecting the entire planet Earth - global climate change.
The author recommends that visitors to this site get the facts from the Bureau of Meteorology. An excellent page can be found here.
Whilst Tasmania experiences four distinct seasons in a full calendar year, it is often said that our state's weather can put on four seasons in one day!

Apart from local weather conditions, the most prominent seasonal indicators can be found in the Tasmanian landscape; with autumn being particularly attractive.
Agriculture is another pointer to seasonal activity. Tasmanian Seasons 2008 contains a number of rural scenes, including the tremendous spectacle of flowering poppies, featured in the month of December.

I would like to extend a special wish of thanks to Bernard and Margaret Boon of the Meadowville property near Hagley, for granting access to their poppy crop.
Further thanks go to David Farrell and Terry Stuart of the Poppy Advisory and Control Board   for facilitating access to Meadowville and a number of other poppy growing sites.

I would also like to acknowledge the cooperation of the following growers:

Michael and Julie Peltzer of Logan
Daryl and Geoff Wing of Elkstone
Tom Dowling of Mayfield
Michael Warner of Vaucluse
Michael Green of The Glen

Raw Impressions Photography is currently liaising with Tasmanian Alkaloids   for inclusion of other poppy images (obtained at the properties listed above), in their 2008 calendar.

Tasmanian Seasons 2008 is available now for A$10.00
